The Hicksville apparatus was raised up at the entrance – a decision was made to pay attention to that SAF Holland Neway Suspension System while there was still daylight and conduct the business part of the meeting later. Kenny Shepherd, NE Service Rep and Duane Blakely, OEM Account Manager described the features of their product to our members.

The president, Bill D’Alessandro, opened the meeting. He asked a member of the Westbury group to lead a pledge to the flag. He followed with a minute of silence for our departed members and the troops overseas. He asked Kit to read the minutes of the last meeting - Huntington Fire Dept. on April 13. The minutes were accepted as read by Richie Fleishauer and seconded by Anthony Rizzo. Kit read the letters of appreciation that were sent to Huntington Fire Dept. and The Maintenance Connection.

The treasurer, Barbara Connelly, reported that the organization has 120 members. She discussed the number of sales people who want to come to our meetings to harass our members. We only want presenters that our people can learn something that will benefit them. The members indicated they would like presentations on diesel systems by Cummins and Detroit. She read a thank you from Kit to the members who celebrated her birthday at the last meeting. Kit reported no news on our effort to find the NAEVT money that is on the NYS list of unclaimed funds. She plans to get in touch with the NYS official who alerted her to the list.

The president introduced Kenny Shepherd who did an in-depth power point presentation on the SAF HOLLAND products. There was a Q & A – our members paid close attention. They gave extensive literature and had many handouts.

Kit had brought old LIEVT pictures from the last three decades. Tom and Craig Probst from Hendrickson have volunteered to scan them onto a disc that we can show to our members.

The hosts from Westbury were given our new, embroidered chefs hats. The president gave them a framed certificate of appreciation. He gave a framed certificate of appreciation to Duane Blakely and Kenny Shepherd of SAF HOLLAND.

A raffle was held with donations from Ferrara, Waterway, Hendrickson, FRC and Jack McLoughlin. The next meeting, the last of this season, will be on Thursday. June 30 at the Wantagh Fire Department.

The meeting was adjourned.
