Middle Island Fire Department hosted the dinner meeting for approximately fifty members and guests at the Headquarters at Rte 25 and Arnold Place.

The Middle Island hosts served an excellent dinner followed by a superb dessert table and beverages. The president, Steve Velazquez, presented each of them with an LIEVT chef’s hat.

LIEVT News Long Island Emergency Vehicle Technicians show up in force for the 17th annual Apparatus Specification & Vehicle Maintenance Symposium held by FDSOA (Fire Department Safety Officers Association). Their interaction with the manufacturers and expert speakers allows manufacturers to better understand the concerns and needs of Emergency Vehicle Technicians nationwide. EVT Test: Wed. March 23

EVT Testing On Wed. February 16, Chris Lo Preto of the Sayville Fire District who is an Adjunct Professor of Automotive Engineering, will conduct a study session in preparation for the Wed. March 23 test. He will outline a course of home study.

YOU MUST REGISTER 21 DAYS IN ADVANCE with the EVT Certification Commission to take the test!

New Association President Elected

Meeting Reports Steve Velazquez of East Setauket FD was voted in as the new Association president. Steve is shown here on the left with Toby Morgan and Scott Helmick of Harrison Hydragen who presented an informative training seminar for the Harrison line of hydraulic PTO generators at the Thursday, Nov 18th meeting held at Mastic FD.
