Long Island, NY Assn of Emergency Vehicle Technicians

This website is the online home for the Long Island Association of Emergency Vehicle Technicians. Established in 1985, the association provides a forum for members to share work experience and participate in training seminars. Bi-monthly meetings are held at firehouses across Long Island in both Nassau and Suffolk counties. The association arranges for training and presentations by experts in the field and manufacturing service reps for the apparatus and equipment used on modern emergency vehicles. We hope that this website will further the association's goals by providing easier means of collaboration, scheduling and participation.

The logo image above is based on the Florida Assn. EVT logo I saw in the last Florida Fire Service issue. I liked it so much I copied it! :) The proposed logo for 2008 based on a design someone suggested at the Bay Shore meeting is posted here. The old logo is still available for comparison.

An evening at Kussmaul

Kussmaul Electronics will host an evening, Wednesday, May 14, at their facility to familiarize our members with their products. A buffet will be served at 7 PM and will be followed by a one and one-half hour program of everything our members might want to know about their products. They are located at 170 Cherry Avenue in West Sayville, New York. A sign up sheet was passed around at the last meeting, if you did not sign that sheet please either make a comment on this story or use the Contact link to send email to the administrator. Meeting Report - Apr, 2008

The regular meeting of the Long Island Emergency Vehicle Technicians was held on Wednesday, April 30 at the Coram Fire Department. More than fifty members enjoyed an excellent dinner – the LIEVT chefs’ hats were presented to the hosts.

Head's Up!

MARK YOUR CALENDARS

The next regular LIEVT dinner meeting will be held on Wednesday, April 30 at the Coram Fire Department in Suffolk. Details will follow as soon as the speaker is confirmed.

On Wednesday evening, May 14, Kussmaul Electronics will host a class at their facility in Sayville to familiarize our members with their products.

The June meeting will be held at the Wantagh Fire Department in Nassau - date and speaker to follow.

We are not doing a regular mailing until we have the details worked out. If you know members without email addresses please share this with them.
