Long Island, NY Assn of Emergency Vehicle Technicians

This website is the online home for the Long Island Association of Emergency Vehicle Technicians. Established in 1985, the association provides a forum for members to share work experience and participate in training seminars. Bi-monthly meetings are held at firehouses across Long Island in both Nassau and Suffolk counties. The association arranges for training and presentations by experts in the field and manufacturing service reps for the apparatus and equipment used on modern emergency vehicles. We hope that this website will further the association's goals by providing easier means of collaboration, scheduling and participation.

LIEVT Logos - which one's do you like?

We've created a page with all the LIEVT logos we've played with over the years. Each logo is numbered in the list for easier reference. Members are urged to take a look and email their preference to logo@lievt.org which will be sent to officers for a tally. PLEASE MENTION THE NUMBER YOU LIKE IN THE EMAIL!

For members (and any other users of the site) that don't wish to send in email - we'll put up an informal web poll in the left hand column under the Whats New block. Note: Nate can't (quickly) figure out how to open the poll for anonymous users, so you'll have to log in to use the poll feature. If you don't remember your username or password this may be even more painful than emailing us!

Meeting Report - May, 2009

The regular meeting of the LONG ISLAND EMERGENCY VEHICLE TECHNICIANS was held on Wednesday, May 20, 2009 at the Wantagh F D. Commissioner Craig Craft and ex-Chief John Loeber did an outstanding job in the kitchen – the food was excellent – their group certainly earned the LIEVT chefs’ hats they were presented with. About sixty members were in attendance.

Meeting Report - Mar, 2009

The regular meeting of the LONG ISLAND EMERGENCY VEHICLE TECHNICIANS was held on Wednesday, March 18, 2009 at the Bay Shore F D. Roger Robichaud, ex Captain of Bay Shore Hook and Ladder was in charge of the dinner – the volunteers included a professional chef – they certainly deserved the LIEVT chefs’ hats they were presented with.

At 8 PM the meeting was opened by the President, Steve Velazquez, who led the pledge to the flag. He asked Kit to read the minutes of the meeting at Elmont on February 4, 2009– the minutes were read and approved by a motion made by Frank Cherba and approved by Steve Velazquez.
